My horticulture professor, Russ Johnson, taught us, "There is no such thing as a weed. There are just misplaced plants." Wikipedia seems to agree, "Weeds have no botanical classification value, since a plant that is a weed in one context is not a weed when growing where it is wanted (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weed).
As much as I admired and respected Russ, I struggle with this concept. So just for fun, I will investigate one weed a week and add it to this page. With a little luck maybe we can all come to appreciate our weeds a little bit (but that doesn't mean we have to let them grow in our garden).
